On February 24, at 6:31am, my partner called me and said “Please don’t panic, but they started bombing Kyiv.” At that moment a new reality started. Reality full of horror and pain.

Pride Is Not Available in Your Region

Pride Is Not Available in Your Region” describes the life of Ukrainian queer people during the ongoing war against Russia. It shows how we are fighting for our freedom.
Last year, UKRAINEPRIDE NGO held a creative political performance “Reyvakh Pride” disguised as a rave outside the Ukrainian president’s office. The purpose of the event was to draw public attention to the safety of LGBTQIA+ people, the arbitrariness of the police, the lack of investigation into past crimes of radical groups against the community, as well as Kyiv’s electronic scene. “Reyvakh Pride” was supposed to become an annual event.
But the war has changed everything. This year’s “Reyvakh Pride” has literally become “unavailable.” This is because all participants in the event now actively defend Ukraine in the war against Russia. The real stories of these defenders have become the basis of a new social video project launched by UKRAINEPRIDE.
The world has to hear the voices of the Ukrainian LGBTQIA+ community and to know how ruinous this war is for queer people.
