This is the fourth feature by one of Germany's most successful directresses nowadays, Angelina Maccarone. It's a drama about three women on the run. On Christmas Eve, Francesca's younger sister decides to run away from home to Rotterdam with her musician boyfriend. Francesca, who simply wants to have some rest from a hard day's work, is forced to go there and confront her. On her way she picks up Gerlinde, a suicidal and lovesick woman. An unexpected relationship develops between Francesca and Gerlinde. Will the three women find consolation in each other? Maccarone, who also wrote the script, weaves the three stories together wisely, creating a warm and loving human texture that deals with acceptance and unconditional love.
