After his first feature was screened at the Sundance, Berlin and Toronto film festivals, Todd Verow was invited to close the LGBT film festival in San Francisco. The audience responded by way of massive exodus from the screening hall, full of disgust. They made a point of returning at the end to express their discontent. If you're looking for a nice little film about sweet loving gays, this film is definitely not for you. But if you have a soft spot for truly artistic films on serial killers, Frisk is a queer landmark you simply can't miss. Todd Verow's scandalous and experimental feature is based on the best-seller by Dennis Cooper. The surrealistic plot follows Dennis, raising the question – is he really a psychopathic serial killer, or is it all delusional? His passions surface as he writes letters to his best friend Julian, and to his object of desire – Julian's younger brother Kevin.
