Japan Japan participated at the Locarno international film festival and was even screened at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Imri's world changes at 19, as he decides to leave the army, move to Tel Aviv, and cope with the fact that an especially close childhood friend is leaving to go to New York. He rents an apartment with a mentally unstable roommate and finds a job in a gift shop. It's all for one big cause – saving money to be able to fly to Japan. In addition to learning Japanese he experiences the delights of the big city, becomes addicted to Japanese porn films and even finds himself visiting the Separation Wall. Lior Shamriz's film is an experimental piece free of any coherent storyline and haunted by a gripping depressive feeling. The film contains nudity and some sex scenes that are difficult to watch.
