One of the most impressive and visually appealing films you will experience at the festival this year. Danish actress Sidse Babett Knudsen fondly remembered for her unforgettable role in the series “The Government”, stars in the lead role of the dark erotic thriller that conquered the world’s leading film festivals. Cynthia is a rich butterfly expert who lives with Evelyn, her lover and housekeeper isolated in a magnificent mansion. What looks like a fun role-playing games with a sadomasochistic touch, reveals an unexpected sexual relationship between the two women not being clear who is dominate and who is submissive.
“The Duke of Burgundy” is a work of strange cinema, elusive, kinky, and surreal through Gothic photography, which corresponds with classical masterpieces such as “Belle De Jour” by Luis Bunuel and “The Servant” of Joseph Losey.
