This production is a piece of poetry with spectacular photography. Saigon in the late nineties, photography student Vu rents a room in a shared flat. With his
brand-new camera, he explores the people, places and things around him. He is particularly fascinated by his flat mate Thang, a charismatic young man who is at home amongst drug dealers, gamblers and prostitutes in the nightlife of Saigon. Thang introduces Vu to the nightclub dancer Van. One day, another flat mate, a street singer, is mugged, which force the guys need to escape to the village. The sexual tension between these two young men is going to change their world.
“Big Father, Small Father and Other Stories” is a movie for those who like artistic events. This is a monumental work consisting of a variety of small
stories that together build a large and complex world with a unique atmosphere that adds a rare intensity of watching a movie. From the big city to the jungles,
director Dang Di takes viewers on a journey that must be seen on the big screen.
