Adolescence is never easy, and even more when you’re a blind boy who studies at a regular high school. Fortunately for Leo, his best friend Giovana studies with him in the same class, she shields him from the unfriendly environment. They spend the afternoons in intimate conversations by the pool. Leo tired of the hostile environment, and protective parents, wants to join the student exchange program. His plans change when a new student joins the class. A young boy named Gabriel. The two soon become best friends. For the first time Leo starts feeling new and surprising sensations – he falls in love with Gabriel. “The Way He Looks” is the first LGBT movie where the hero is blind, but more than that it is the director’s Daniel Ribeiro first feature film. The director and the young cast (they were all adolescent when it was filmed), present us with a captivating cinematographic work which managed to escape a variety of clichés we come to expected from and adolescence coming out movies. You are about to fall in love, at first sight, with this movie.
