Underground Weekend Opening Night:
Ticked-Off Trannies with Knives
16.11 22:00, Cinematheque 1
Dir: Israel Luna
Hosted by Osh-Ree
The surprise hit from Tribeca 2010. Imagine “Kill Bill” meeting “Prescilla Queen of the Desert,” and you will get the camp revenge film that managed to split American audiences in two: admirers and opposers. Trans dancers at a burlesque club somewhere in the Southern US go out to a romantic rendez-vous that turns out to be a violent hate crime. Those who survive take on martial arts and embark on a particularly bloody revenge journey resulting in a film resembling the Grindhouse genre of the 60s and 70s but with a kicking Queer twist.(USA, 2010, 95 min. English without subtitles)
