Yaki just wanted to make a porn film. As a child growing up in an ultra-orthodox family (very religious), he never even heard about this “dubious” genre. Actually, he never even encountered the world of television and film. After shooting his little film, he starts developing his interest in video-art, with the help of his good friend Ricardo. Through this medium he explores the connection between sex and religion, myth and anxiety, body and soul. This is his self portrait.

Explicit sex. 18 y.o. and older.

The Tel Aviv Cinematheque

2 Sprintzak Street Tel Aviv

Tickets are available via phone: 03-6060800 ext. 0

This year's most rumbustious cinematic event at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque!

Between its worldwide premiere in the Locarno International Film Festival's official selection (August 2010) and right before its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (September 2010) - the most talked about film from Canadian director Bruce LaBruce comes to Tel Aviv for one time only special screening as a part of TLVFEST's monthly movie club.

The man who brought you outrageous works as "Raspberry Reich" and "Skin Flick" continues to break all possible conventions with this artistic and pornographic Zombie film featuring the best gay porn stars and starring model actor Francois Sagat.

An extra terrestrial/zombie rises from the ocean, picked up by a surfer. After a deadly accident he fucks the deceased surfer, bringing him back to life. Is he really a supernatural creature or a schizophrenic delusional homeless person? On the sidelines of LA life he meets gangsters, druggies and the homeless.

The film was recently blocked from Melbourne Film Festival

Les Chansons D'Amour

Dir: Christophe Honore

Tuesday July 20, 2010 22:00

The Tel Aviv Cinematheque - 2 Sprintzak St. Tel Aviv

Tickets are available via phone: 03-6060800 ext. 0

Christophe Honore makes a case as one of the most exciting filmmakers of our generation with the exuberant and tended Love Songs (Les Chansons D'Amour). A modern day musical told through unforgettable songs sung entirely by the cast and scored by Alex Beaupain, the film has overjoyed audiences at the Cannes and Toronto Film Festivals while earning recognition in its native country with four French Cesar nominations.

In the hope of sparking their stalled relatioinship, Ismael (Louis Garrel of Dans Paris, The Dreamers) and Julie (Ludivine Sagnier of Swimming Pool) enter a playful yet emotionally laced threesome with Alice (Clotilde Hesme of Regular Lovers). When tragedy strikes, these young Parisians are forced to deal with the fragility of life and love. For Ismael, this means negotiating through the advances of Julie's sister (Chiara Mastroianni of Persepolis) and a young college student (Gregoire Leprince-Ringuet of Strayed); one of which may offer him redemption.

In association with the French Embassy.

A Four Letters Word

Dir: Casper Andreas

Six people in New York are adrift. Zeke and Luke work in a sex shop: Zeke takes gay liberation seriously, Luke likes to sparkle and takes nothing seriously. He’s offended when Stephen calls him a gay cliché, then, surprisingly, they find each other attractive and interesting. Stephen, it turns out, has a great apartment, trust fund, and artwork he’s painted on his walls. Meanwhile, Peter, a neat-freak, and Derek, nice to everyone, move in together. Peter’s compulsiveness threatens the relationship. Last, newly-engaged Marilyn, a recovering alcoholic stuck at step 2, can’t stop obsessing about wedding details. Can these folks sort out civilization and its discontents?
